CBR Brave Down Sydney Ice Dogs in Thriller |
|
|
|
The CBR Brave defeated the Sydney Ice Dogs 4-3 in a thriller at the Brave Cave on Saturday night.
The Brave scored all their four goals in the final period, as they trailed for the majority of the game, but with the home faithful behind them, they were able to overcome the deficit as they took victory for the first time on home ice this season.
Sydney were eager to build on their thrilling win over the Melbourne Ice and they got off to a perfect start, withstanding a wave of pressure from the Brave they were first to score, and they took a slender 1-0 lead going into the second period.
It was a similar story in the second period, it was fast and intense, but the goals were not coming for the Brave and Sydney capitalised on their chances to double the lead going into the final period.
It would take something special if the Brave were to register their first home win of the campaign, they received the perfect start with two goals in the first three minutes of the period to level things up.
The match would then take another unexpected turn, with the Brave scoring their third consecutive goal to take the lead but then Sydney levelled things up not long after to set up a grandstand finish, however with two minutes left the Brave scored the winning goal to send the roof off the Brave Cave.
CBR will host the Perth Thunder on June 1 and 2 in a double header. |
